Homeworking checklist

Homeworking is becoming more commonplace. However, you still have responsibilities for your employees’ health and safety. Our checklist can help you manage them.

Managing homeworking

You may have some employees who work from home a day or two a week in order to accommodate family commitments. If so, you still have certain responsibilities for their health and safety. Luckily, this is where a Homeworking Checklist comes in as it can help you assess the suitability of their homes against current health and safety legislation.

Putting the checklist to use

In order to save yourself a lot of time and effort, you can put the responsibility for completing the checklist (and to do so honestly) onto the employee wishing to work from home. The introductory paragraph includes a statement whereby you retain the right to revoke any home working arrangements, should any information provided later prove to be inaccurate. As for the checklist itself, the questions look at a variety of health and safety matters.
