As we reported in October 2015, four directors were charged with the criminal offence of failing to give proper legal notice of proposed staff redundancies to the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills (yr.17, iss.3, pg.6, see The next step ). Whilst three of those directors have been acquitted of those criminal charges this decision doesn’t mean the Secretary of State no longer has to be notified - the court found these directors not guilty on a technicality....
